When does the Board of Directors meet?

The Board of Directors for the Organ and Eye Bank normally meets on the Third Sunday of every Month.  Check the calendar page for Time and Meeting Location and/if there are changes for that month.


Where are monies directed from the LOEB budget?

Any monies that are given from the District, whether Dues, 100% contributions, White Cane, and/or other donations are used in funding the activities of the 2E2 Organ and Eye Bank.  Please refer to various pages within the website for more information about the LOEB activities.


Does the LOEB provide eyeglasses in the District?

Yes, the LOEB supports eyeglass distribution.  This is done through the Mobile Vision Clinic, the permanent clinics, and/or special requests from within the District.

How does the LOEB obtain eyeglasses?

The LOEB currently has two major sources for eyeglasses.  Dietz Laboratories in Ft. Worth and a national account with Wal-Mart.


What is the purpose of the Mobile Vision Clinic?

A number of years ago, the board of directors decided to create a mobile vision clinic/ van that would be able to provide eye examinations to areas of the district that did not have ready access to normal eye examinations. State of the art equipment was purchased and the van is staffed by directors and volunteers from the district.  In 2005, the board decided to expand the focus of the mobile vision clinic to include vision screenings and health education programs. 


How many permanent vision clinics are there?

As of May 23, 2007 there are two clinics in the 2E2 District serving adult clients.  One is in Ft. Worth and one is in McKinney.


Who comprises the Professional Advisory Board?

The Advisory Board is composed of Optometrists, Ophthalmologists, Nurses, and other MD specialties.

How are members placed on the Advisory Board?

The members are by invitation only, from existing Advisory Board members.


How does the LOEB support the West Side Eyeglass Recycling Center?

The LOEB supports the Eyeglass Recycling Project in many ways.  Many of the LOEB directors are actively involved in the project and support the recycling center in Midland, Texas.  The LOEB has passed motions to financially support the Recycling Center as feasible in the future.


What are White Cane Monies Used For?

White Cane money is used is all aspects of the 2E2 Organ and Eye Bank operation.  Monies are used to support work with UT Transplant Services.  Additionally, money is directed in the funding of the Mobile Vision Project and its educational objectives.  Monies are also directed to the long term goal of permanent vision clinics that will service the needs of adult clients throughout the 2E2 District.
