Helen presented to the Quad-Dist. Board an idea of an endowment fund. This fund to my knowlege is to assist those families finacialy that need assistant with transplants. Helen also suggested a contribution of $100 per club from each District to start this fund. The last time the Quad meet they discussed ways to finance this fund. Nothing was set at that meeting. That meeting was Feb 12, 2005. The chairperson of the Quad-Dist. Board has not had any meeting since. She has polled the directors for the board for meetings since she had no topics for a meeting. I hope that the Aug 20 meeting. Lion Carol and I will be able to bring better information to our board and our District.

Sounds like there are a lot of issues that still need work on this idea. In preparation for this adventure, Lion Don's comment of supporting Pres. Pauls' idea of retooling the MVC for advertizing the benefits of transplantation, showcasing major donors, and encouraging portions of trusts to support Lions efforts in transplantaion may be the best idea to get this support rolling.
